Its August, But...

We want to wear the sweaters that Debbie's mum made us!

Taking a break from the cottage photos (yup, there's more to add!), I just thought I'd tell you about how Owen has started expressing preferences for certain items of clothing. He woke up one morning refusing to wear the t-shirt I'd pulled out and went to get himself a pyjama top with a train on it from Auntie Gillian in Scotland. "Choo-choo! Choo-choo!" he begged. So I let him wear his pj top and he was happy.
The next day we were watching the olympics before bedtime (okay, okay, I was watching the Olympics before their bedtime - I'm shocked at how addicted I am) and the boys were playing in their room and in the tv room with me. Owen disappears for a few minutes and then returns with a woolen hat. "Where did you get this? I thought it was in one of your drawers!" I said. "Hat! Hat! HAT!" he replied. So I put the hat on, even though it was boiling in the living room. He was quite pleased and toddled off again. He came back two seconds later holding the sweater that matched the hat. "Are you kidding? Its August!" He wasn't kidding and let me know it for about two minutes, grunting and begging the way only Owen can. So I sighed, put on the sweater and laughed at how cute he was. He smiled, patted his belly, and then wandered away again, only to return with the matching sweater and hat, yelling 'Wa Wa! Wa Wa!", which is what he was calling William at the time (he now calls him Owie, but that's a story for another post). William was only too pleased to don the sweater and hat combo! So I did what any mother would do. I went and got the socks to match and then got my camera.

Thanks to Mrs Kilmartin for making such gorgeous sweaters and hats and socks that my boys already love, even though its August!

I think Owen is channeling Zoolander here. Its Blue Steel.
