Can't Tear Myself Away

I've been a bit sick this week - first cold since before I was pregnant, so my body is saying, 'What the...??" - but my boys, all four of them, have been superstars, especially Owen and Will. They've been great at playing on their own while mummy sits down to drink some hot Ribena or just staring off into space. We've had some good naps too.

The hardest thing is trying not to pass this cold on to them - have you ever tried not to kiss the cutest babies in the world? But I'm scared to death of them getting this! They've never had a cold before! I know its bound to happen eventually, but if I can prevent it for as long as possible, all the better.

But enough of my sob story. Here's a little video I took this morning of my little fuzzy blondies being their cute, happy selves. Sorry about all the background noise - Agnes, my wonderful cleaning lady, was vacuuming and I had the CBC on too.

Sorry all - didn't realise it was such poor quality on my digital camera for videos. And doubly sorry you all had to turn your heads to the side to see Will's legs! That was an utter blonde moment.

Pasc... thank you for the nice comments on my blog, you are so sweet. I'm sorry to hear that you've been sick. I got sick a couple of weeks ago with the Norwalk virus... not fun and super hard to care for a busy boy while feeling so nasty. As far as your boys getting a cold, I know how you feel. I was rather concerned before Nathan got his first cold but yes.. it's bound to happen and I have heard that it's pretty common for kids to have plenty of colds their first few years of life. The biggest thing that has helped us is a nasal aspirator to extract the fluids from the nose(to put it nicely) and a humidifier to run in his room at night and during nap times. They also say that you can raise the mattress on one side but Nathan moves so much in his sleep that I don't think that would help him anymore. So, I hope your boys don't get your cold but if they do... just know that it's normal and you'll take really good care of them as only good mommies do. Take care and I'll be thinking of you.
Jenna
If I lived closer I'd bring you some soup.

And I bet it would be homemade soup too, Jenna! Thanks for the advice, really appreciate it. We have a humidifier, but I think we need to clean it out properly since it hasn't been used for a while and I don't want to humidify the room with moldy steam! And we do have a nasal aspirator, but it's no good! I'd say it sucks, but it doesn't (badoum-boom). I think I need to go out and get a better one.
And poor you with Norwalk - that is awful. I'm not nearly as bad as that - I can't imagine having to look after these guys in that kind of condition. But I guess you just do what you can and what needs to be done, right?
I love all the photos of Nathan in various sleep poses, by the way - legs sticking out of the crib! Does he ever roll over and hurt himself lying like that? I'm always a little nervous when these guys stick their arms out, but so far the only damage they do is when they roll over to each other and end up kicking one another in the mornings when they wake up. I think we might be separating them into different cribs soon, which makes me sad, because I love the thought of them having some company at night.
Ah well. The little stinkers need their diapers changed - no rest for the wicked.
Take care Jenna!
Pasc xx

I've just watched this video with Mark and am now doubly embarrassed- how many times do I repeat myself when I talk to the boys? Do I repeat myself? Do I? Yeah! Is mummy silly? Is she? Yeah! She's silly!
sigh. I used to be able to have adult conversations. I did. Yeah!
