Signs Of What's To Come

Had my second ultrasound this morning - so much faster than the first one. I was in and out in about 40 mins. I nearly fell asleep on the poor technician though. It was fairly quiet with dim lighting, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. But then the boys started kicking for all they were worth, as if to say "get that THING away from me!", everytime the technician placed the doohickywhatsit near them. He said they were very active, and sarcastically said "very friendly" since they've apparently got their backs to each other. I said "that's nothing - last time they were kicking each other."

I saw their little hearts beating away, Baby B's feet and toes, Baby A's arm waving around, and a whole load of other stuff, like spines and bladders and stomachs. It was pretty cool, even second time around. The photos really aren't as clear as the first shots, I assume because they were so active. I'll see if I can find someone with a scanner, but don't hold yer breath - I don't know if they're even worth seeing, they're fairly fuzzy.

I also made the mistake of going on to google today and typing "pregnant with twins" and then hitting the image search button. Oh lordy. I was aghast. I am going to be huge if those women were anything to go by. I was a little frightened, I have to admit. And there is no way that any of the clothes I have bought up until now will fit me at that stage. I think a muu-muu might be in order. I already find it hard to get up from the futon (aka the devil's sofa) and the bed - I have to do this ridiculous roll to the side and then push myself up with my arms, like an upside-down turtle or a beached whale trying to right itself. Can you imagine the huffing and puffing I'm going to have to do in a couple of months time? Siiiiiigh.

I'd also like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMBER! My cutie-patootie friend Amber is 28 today and since she loves birthdays more than anything, I'd like everyone take a moment and think happy birthday thoughts for Amber. Trust me, she'll feel them. Smoochies, Bamber, all of the Pergant Johnsons love you to bits.

Thanks for the birthday wishes -- your blog was making me laugh all the way to the part where you gave me b-day props -- then it just made me smile real big :)

I googled "pregnant with twins" in the image search engine. All I can say is that you can borrow my bed sheets if need be. Holy crow! I'll be there to hold your hand as you waddle through the last months!
