Waiting For Bob # 3

Poor little baby-in-my-belly, I fear you're being neglected. I'm so busy chasing after your two wild-child brothers that I have to remind myself to stop and take a moment to remember you're in there. I'm sure once you start kicking, stretching and dancing about, I'll focus on you a little more, but its so hard to even remember what week I am, let alone not to eat ham sandwiches or honey on toast.

It doesn't mean I don't love you, or that you're not wanted, far from it! Its just very, very busy out here, as I'm pretty sure you've gathered by all the shouting and hollering that goes on around you. Can you hear your big brothers talking to you yet? They say hello to you all the time. William has grand plans to show you how to use the power drill and Owen is going to take you down to the basement and show you how the other toys work. But in true big brother style, they're elbowing you about already - my poor stomach can hardly take all the digs and shoves it accidently receives during the day.

But today I heard your heartbeat for the first time, ever so briefly at the doctor's office, and you sounded steady and sure. And at night, as I lie in bed, I look down and see you're already making yourself known, making my belly bigger each day. The doctor seems to think you'll be joining us around February 25th, which sounds like a nice date, don't you think? And in two weeks we'll hopefully find out if you're a boy or a girl. No pressure, but everyone is dying to know so I hope you cooperate with the technician. But listen, sweetie, Mummy and Daddy just want you to be happy and healthy so don't worry too much about it, okay?

Right monkey, I'm going to bed. Hope you sleep well too and have lovely dreams about big brothers who share their favorite toys. Love you.

What a LOVELY post! I'm sure Bob-ette can feel the love and already feels happy, safe and secure.
I love you.

Sorry people. did not mean to suggest a preference or insider knowledge - "Bobette" was just my way of indicating a smaller version of Bob. And it has a nice ring to it. :)

I love Bobette, it's a perfect name for now!

And it might still be those new-mum hormones, but you almost had me smiling tears.
