The Experimental Farm

We had an awful lot of rain during our three weeks at the cottage, with the occaisional nice day, or at least a morning here or an evening there with some sunny weather. Susan and I were very creative at keeping the boys entertained when we had to be inside, but there were certainly days when we were all battling a bit of cabin fever. To help alleviate the craziness such days caused, we planned a trip to Ottawa for a visit to the Experimental Farm and lunch (as well as an unplanned mystery drive on another day, where we just toottled around the Quebec countryside, looking for cows and horses at the boys' request).

Here are some shots from our morning at the Farm, which ended up being a beautiful sunny day, of course!

Hanging out with Gran

Amazed at the dairy cows - my favorite was the Swedish Brown cow, which had a gorgeous, gentle face. Who would have thought cows could be gorgeous?

Checking out new, kind of smelly friends

The tractor display was a huge hit, especially the ones you could ride on! We've been pretending to be farmers ever since.
