Mark and I have decided that we want to take the kids for some form of walk or hike during the weekends, to get out, get exercise, and most importantly, to explore our area. There are many wonderful places to visit in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and we figure its high time we see some of them. We've managed to go out three weekends in a row, which we're very pleased with, having been to the Humber Arboretum and then for a visit to High Park to see the cherry trees in bloom and then to Rattray Marsh this weekend with Gran and Grandpa.
I have to say, Rattray Marsh has been my favorite discovery. I wish we'd found out about this place earlier, because its really lovely and calming. A series of boardwalks take you through the marsh and along the lakeshore, with viewing platforms along the way, as well as pebbly beaches just right for skipping stones in the water. I'm certain we'll be back to visit again very soon.
