Scotland Trip WEDDING DAY (cont)

I don't have many photos to offer you of the wedding and the reception itself - just what Dave took and passed on to me, so I apologise now. But at least we have some, eh?

Here are Caroline and I with the piper, waiting for the guests to enter the Chapel and for the bride to arrive with her sisters, Rosie and Alecka. It was pretty windy that day, but thankfully it was sunny, and the piper was shielding us from most of the wind. Plus my hair was hairsprayed to hell, so I don't think it was going to be moving anywhere anytime soon. We're wearing Vera Wang dressed and our little jackets were brought over from India by Alecka, who is working over there for a fashion magazine right now. They're cashmere on the outside and lined with silk on the inside. Uh-huh. Oh yeah. And the colours matched the dresses perfectly! Our flowers were roses and eucalyptus leaves, really beautiful and they smelled divine.

Here is Mrs Timothy Gibson (except that she's keeping her wonderful name, Micklewright, thanks to a big win by the Micklewright clan against the Gibson on the golf course the day before! Hotly contested, apparently.) Elly's dress was a beautiful strapless gown, over which she wore a little lace shrug. Alecka also had a cashmere jacket for her too, also perfectly matching her dress. She looked stunning.

Slight wardrobe malfunction...these are my huge feet not fitting into my even huger shoes. I had nightmares the night before that I was going to walk down the aisle and a show would come flying off and hit someone in the head. Thankfully the tissue paper I'd stuck at my heels seemed to do the trick, but by the time the reception started, the shoes had loosed up a bit more, the tissue paper had flattened and gravity was pulling my feet even further away from the back of the heels. It was no use and I just went barefoot for the rest of the night. Its too bad because the suit the dresses so well and were pretty comfy until the started to fall off.
