After saying goodbye to mum and Dave and giving the newlyweds one last hug before they went off to the Highlands for their honeymoon, I spent the day with my other ex-flatmate from university, Gillian. She and I have been friends since the very first year of uni, and what always amazes me is that we go for years without seeing each other (this time it was 4 years - she was one of my bridesmaids, like Elly, for my wedding in 2004), and yet we just pick up like it was last week.
Here is Gillian in what used to be Ogstons but is now The Rule, ordering our lunch. We then drove to Edinburgh where her lovely husband Jonathan and her 18 month old son Finlay were waiting for us.
Here is Finlay having just woken up and wondering what on earth is going on.
I'll bet he did, Finlay.
Striking a pose. Love the socks, buddy.
