Hi gang! My apologies yet again to all my faithful readers who have been checking on a daily basis only to be greeted with nothing new. The computer has been fixed, but now I need to recharge my camera batteries. If its not one thing, its another, eh? Hopefully I'll be back into full on blogging mode soon.
So without any photos, perhaps I should try to paint a picture for you. Hmmm, what should my picture be of? It might be a self-portrait of me covered in sweat and looking like I might throw up after a run on Sunday (thanks Andrea!), since I've started running again and am finding it hard. I've even started pushing the boys again during the week with my running mums' group, although that's also pretty brutal since we have to stop-start every 5 minutes for either an intervention between Owen and Will or give them more snacks to distract them from hitting each other or retrieve something that they've chucked out of the stroller. I remember the days when they would fall asleep in there before we'd even left the driveway! However, I am really proud of myself for sticking with my runs, since I seem to have a very loud internal voice that yells "STOP! STOP! STOP!" with every step. It might actually be my lungs yelling, or possibly my thighs. I can't figure it out yet. But I'm doing my best to ignore the yelling and keep on truckin'.
The picture I paint for you might also be of two tazmanian devils whirling around our living room in a cloud of toys, crumbs and dog hair. I honestly have no idea where they get the energy from, but Owen and William never ever ever seem to stop. Unless they're sleeping. Or there's a backhoe on tv. Even in the car, they wiggle their legs and bop their heads against the seats. Its just constant motion. No wonder they've got skinny little legs - they're using up every single calorie they ingest! It does explain the carbo-loading too...
Or maybe I could paint you a picture of one lovely moment this Saturday. Mark and I took the boys to Port Credit, a cute little town about 15 minutes from us, where there is a Starbucks (one day we'll have one in our 'hood, one day) and a great park next to the Credit River. The park has lovely landscaping, a big open field to run around in, a skateboarding park and a playground. Its also got some raised train tracks at the north end, where trains fly across the river over a bridge. As we were walking towards the playground, we heard the sounds of a fast-approaching train. Owen and I were closer to the playground than Will and Mark, who were on the other side of some shrubs. As soon as the train came in to sight, Owen started frantically waving his little arm and yelling "HI CHOO-CHOO! HI!!!" I thought he was going to fall over he was waving so hard. But the funniest thing was that William went beserk yelling "MUMMY! CHOO-CHOO MUMMY! CHOO-CHOO!" as he started to leg it as fast as he could around the shrubs to get to me. He was just so excited and he wanted to make sure that I'd seen the train too. Because clearly, I am as big a fan of trains as they are, right? I mean, I say 'Look boys! A train!" whenever we see one, so obviously that means I love them too. So sweet. I think that was my favorite part of the weekend.
Well, my paint has all dried up, I think. I've got some new play dates coming up this week so hopefully there will be fodder for more posts soon. Bye for now!

You're a good picture painter... I laughed out loud at the image of the boys excitement at the Choo Choo. How sweet of them to let you know that one of your OBVIOUSLY favourite things was about to go by. What thoughtful little boys they are...
Lots of love

Hey Pascale
I'm not sure you know who i am, Emma Hutchinson as was, a friend of Helen Mickelwrights from St A's (i was in Chattan with her) anyway, i had a baby 4 weeks ago and she sent me to your site a while back for some baby experiences! I just wanted to say how encouraging it is to me in the early frantic days of motherhood to read about your experiences! Hope you don't think i'm a stalker! Love Emma
At the beginning of the choo choo story I thought it was going to be a re-enactment of when the fighter jet flew really low over you and your family and your Dad saw that it was going to be REALLY loud and when it did fly over you you stopped, the apple you were eating dropped out of your hand and then you started crying because the noise was so loud. But you Dad was on his way to sweep you up in his arms and tell you it was OK...I love that story. Hope I got it sort of right. And when we were in France last week there was SO many fighter jets flying around it made me think of you. Anyway, glad to see Emma is on here! Emma had Samuel 4 weeks ago and I told her that 1) she should read a blog and 2) she should start a blog of her own! Welcome to 'Waiting for Bob' - it is a great read! lots of love, Elle xxx
Hi Emma! Welcome, welcome, I love knowing who is reading the blog because I imagine I'm talking to you all as I write. I'm not sure if you've followed the links to my friend Amber's blog (www.burkinshuk.blogpsot.com) but she just had a baby 5 months ago and is a brilliant writer, so you might want to check out her stories of surviving with a new baby too!
Funny you should mention the air show story, El, mum and I were just talking about that story yesterday. And yes, you did get it right...one of our favorite family stories, I think.
Ha, I laughed at reading your recent post as it sounds similiar to mine with the uncharged batteries for the camera and just general chaos with two little boys running our lives. All the many phases of parenthood... I'm sure someday we'll miss these chaotic days a little.(: You're doing a great job my friend!
Hugs to you and yours.
Jenna
YAY, Emma is reading WFB too. And Shirley is an avid reader. And Pasc, has Elle mentioned that I'll be joining the group soon enough? (the group of first time mums?).
See how big an inspiration you are Pasc! You're doing a great job!
