Amanda hosted a Girl's Night In/Last Hurrah last night for Amber, Annie and I before Amber pops out her baby. Unfortunately, Annie couldn't make it (and we missed you lots Banannie!), so it was a small affair, but Amanda's hubby Mark pretended to be a girl for a while and joined us for dinner. He was very good at making girl small talk, including himself in discussions of labour pains and kitchen renos. Well played, Mark, well played.
Since it was Earth Hour during our mealtime, we decided to have our dinner by candlelight, and spy on all the neighbours who didn't turn off their lights from 8-9pm. And once the power was back on, we went down to the basement, juiced up the Wii and played Guitar Hero III and raced cows until 1am! Amber and I were very impressed with ourselves for staying up so late!
Her's our Guitar Hero Amanda rockin' out, and Amber getting good and comfy in the mosh pit.
Amber thought maybe she could play sitting down but quickly realised she didn't like it
She might be smiling here, but shortly afterwards, she tried to stand up mid-play and, um, fell over. Amanda and I are ashamed to admit that we killed ourselves laughing as our 38 week-pregnant friend collapsed on the floor. In our defence, she wasn't hurt!
Amber accepting the cheers of the crowd after her solo performance (or is that a duet since baby Burkinshuk was rocking out too?)
Me looking seriously concerned about my hand eye coordinating skills
My Guitar Hero Funky Face - often admired, rarely imitated
PS - Dee, is this enough posts for you? I know you expressed some concerns over my lack of postings recently, so I've tried really hard! do I get a gold star? :)
