We're back from a lovely, snowy Christmas holiday at the Johnson family cottage. The boys were thrilled to be surrounded by family, getting all the attention they could possibly want. My mum and her fella, Dave (not to be confused with my brother, David), arrived for two weeks on Christmas Day, so you can imagine how spoiled they were with TWO sets of doting grandparents around.
Lots of new things happening in twinland:
- They can both say 'Jack', although it sounds more like "Dack"
- Owen is particularly good at imitating the dog's bark - "uff, uff"
- When asked what noise a dinosaur makes, they both say "rrrraaaaaarrrr!" So unbelievable cute, you can't begin to imagine!
-William is now walking! Day two at the cottage he just up and decided it was his time to shine, so off he went. He's still not all that bothered about it though and still prefers crawling
- Owen on the other hand, seems to prefer walking now, and is getting really good at it. His latest skill is walking around whilst carrying something in one or both hands. It throws him off balance, but he likes the challenge of getting to where you are and handing you whatever he's got, before taking it back from you and going over to someone else.
- My mum has taught them both to be politically incorrect and tap their hand in front of their mouths to make a Native American war whoop noise (does that make sense?), which makes us all giggle.
- William is particularly fond of burps and sneezes and giggles like mad when he does either. It doesn't help that I laugh too when he does it. A real little boy in the making there.
I've got tons of photos and video from the cottage, but here is a little sampler, and I'll keep adding as many as I can over the next few days.

Will and Owen loved this milk crate that we store their cottage toys in. Owen liked it so much it became his "poop box". Every time he needed an, um....well a bathroom break, I suppose, he would get in the box. It got to the point where we'd all say "Oh, get the diapers out, Owen's in the box!"
We had to create a "safe zone" in the living room, where the boys could play without getting access to the tree, the fireplace or all of our books, magazines, etc. We basically barricaded them in with the sofas, chairs and whatever else we could find the block any exits. As you'll see in some later pictures, Will went a little Steve McQueen on us and had a few great escapes over the holidays. We managed to grab him before he got his chubby hands on the tree ornaments, the stairs or the dog's kibble though. Here they are happily playing in their prison yard with Grandpa.
