Blakes Christmas Party

Mark's law firm had a Christmas party for the kiddies this Sunday, so off we went! I wish I could have captured Owen and William's faces when we walked into the ballroom at the Westin Hotel's conference centre. Their eyes were the size of saucers as they tried to take in all the kids, balloons, clowns, the 4 bouncy castles, the 6 video game booths, the little ride on motorcycles, the cotton candy, and of course, Santa. And the blaring music. I thought they would panic at the noise, but they were pretty good about it all. The only indication that the boys were a little uncomfortable was that their thighs were tightening around our waits like little vices as we held them in our arms! Do not let me go, mummy!

Only thing they didn't like was Santa. And I mean, wouldn't you be freaked out if a funny old guy dressed in bright red, came up to you and said "HoHoHo! HELLO OWEN!" (apart from knowing if you've been bad or good, Santa can also read name tags) Owen, of course, immediately starts to bawl. Will seemed okay, but by then Santa had backed off a little and said he'd see us later if we wanted pictures.

We moved on to the fun rides, like the kind that sit outside supermarkets. William went first and was so busy looking at all the other kids, I don't even think he realised he was on a ride.

Oh wait, there are buttons I can push. Okay, that's kind of fun.

Owen holding on for dear life, but slightly amused.

He kept slipping further and further down into the footwell though, until he was sittin on the floor and not the seat.

Here are Mark and Owen eating the only food they served, chicken fingers and french fries (one of my favorite meals, I have to say). The boys have never had fries before, let alone very salty ones, and they were pretty happy to just suck off all the salt and mush the fries in their hands. I'm not too sure they ate any chicken either. Probably not the best meal of their lives, but its a party and if you can't eat crappy food at a party, when can you?

Here is an awful picture of me, but what the heck, I'm with one of my cuties.
