The Toronto Zoo is one of the finest in the world and I was SO excited to go! We woke up a little late on Sunday (the boys decided to sleep in after all their partying the night before) and slowly made our way to the east end of the city. The Zoo is set in a beautiful valley, and the colours of the trees were just stunning. Mark and I were happy to be out and walking in the gorgeous sunshine, but to be able to see all the animals out and sunning themselves was fantastic too. I didn't take nearly enough photos because I was so busy looking around at everything! We saw lots of animals - elephants, hippos, wild pigs, baboons (mating! Awkward!), a tiger asleep on his back with his fuzzy belly sticking up in the sunshine, huuuuuuge fish, lions lounging in the sun, otters playing in the water, looking up at us when we said hello, a huge snake and some lovely orangutangs. I took a photo of the mummy with her baby because he looked like Owen when he wakes up in the morning, with his hair everywhere. Will and Owen were probably on sensory overload, and didn't seem to look so much at the animals as at their habitats and at all the other kids milling around. Whenever we picked them up out of the stroller to show them something, William would just point at all the trees and Owen just smiled at his daddy. They looked pretty impressed with the big fish though.
It was a fabulous day and I basically can't wait to go again!

It looks like you had a perfect zoo day! I have a question...can those giraffes just walk out of the enclosure, because it sure looks like they can?!?! I'm glad that the weekend was so great :) Love and kisses xox
There was a fence, but it looked pretty piddly to me, so I'm sure if they set their minds to it, they could just hop over it. But have you ever seen a giraffe hop, Karen? No, nor have I, and I think that's what the zookeepers are counting on.
Oh and tell Dwayne I saw a camel but resisted saying 'here Camel, here Camel!" ("Huh? hey! That's me! I'm a camel! I'm a camel!")
