Funny Faces

Three weeks away is quite a long time in babyland. A lot can happen to a baby in three weeks. Owen and William turned 9 months old halfway through our stay at the cottage and just seem to be growing like weeds. Lovely, handsome, totally welcome weeds though, not the kind you want to spray weed killer on.

So what has changed, what's new? Well there are so many things, but here are a few that spring to mind:

- They are both saying "Mamamamamama! Dadadadadadada!" at everything. At the dog, at the lamp, at the bath toys, at me. You get the idea.

- They can both sit up completely on their own now and rarely fall over. If they start to wobble they can usually correct themselves, but the look on their faces as they do it is hilarious. Something like,"'whoa, whoa! I'm fallin'!" and then 'Phewf, that was a close one."

- They stretch their arms up to be picked up. Its very cute, but a little heartbreaking when you're busy and can't scoop them up. They often settle for patting my leg if I stand next to them.

- Owen can very nearly crawl - he gets both his knees under him but then he can't seem to figure out what to do with his arms, so he usually falls face first into the carpet. William doesn't seem too interested in crawling yet. He much prefers the Adult Arms mode of transportation

-They have both developed funny new faces that they pull all the time:

When Owen is really happy he sticks his tongue out as he grins

I know this isn't his tongue-sticking-out face but I just love the cheeks and the cute little lips. And the blond fuzzy head. Don't forget the peach-fuzz head!

Will's new face is hilarious! I can't figure out what on earth he's trying to express when he does it, but basically he throws his head back, scrunches up his eyes and nose and opens his mouth wide. It just cracks me up every time.

But he still has a cute little smile too

Owen has another face that I haven't been able to get on camera yet - he scrunches up one side of his face, left eye all squinty and mouth smooshed up in a funny little scowl. Again, not sure what this face means, since he does it all the time, but its so cute. Fingers crossed I'll capture the moment on camera!
