What's Up With That Thing On Owen's Head?

I know quite a few people have been concerned about the red bump on Owen's head. It looks like he's cut himself or has some abnormal growth.

Fear not, gentle readers, its a "strawberry" and is defined as a birthmark that "may appear anywhere on the body, but are most common on the face, scalp, back, or chest. They consist of small, closely packed blood vessels. They may be absent at birth, and develop at several weeks. They usually grow rapidly, remain a fixed size, and then subside. 95% of strawberry hemangiomas disappear by the time the child is 9 years old, although there may be some slight discoloration or puckering of the skin where a strawberry hemangioma existed" according to an internet site, Dr. Spock and our own pediatrician.

In other words, nothing to worry about - it will slowly disappear, or at the very least, be covered by his hair. And if, as his mother and a self-proclaimed worry-wort, I'm not worried, then you shouldn't be either. 'Nuff said.
