The Big Two-Oh-Oh

Do I get a marching band? Or a parade? I've passed the 200 lb mark! I went to the doctor's yesterday and weighed in at a whopping 201.4lbs. Don't get me mad, or I might sit on you. So now I can't wait for my ultrasound tomorrow to see how much weight the babies have gained!

The doctor also gave me my inducement/c-scetion date... Now this information might kick a few of you out of our little competition, but since the babies could come earlier, you might still be in luck. So, if they haven't made their grand entrance before then, I will be induced or have a c-section on October 17th. That is two weeks today. She said she's fairly certain I can do this "naturally", and doesn't think I'll need the c-section, so that's great. I mean if you consider countless hours of unbearable pain in your stomach and nether regions the likes of which you have never known before "great".

But I do prefer that option to a c-section, actually. I think the idea of recovery from the c-section, and the fact that it is actually surgery, has kind of turned me off. Besides, our bodies are meant to push babies out, so I might as well try and do it the way the blueprint says. If it doesn't work, I can always go the other route. One way or another, in two weeks, I am going to be somebody's mother. Two somebody's actually. That thought is keeping me awake at night.

I'm feeling a little housebound right now, but part of me doesn't mind. I think I'm too paranoid that my waters will break whilst I'm out and about (I know it doesn't always gush out like in the movies, but even a steady trickle would be a little embarrassing and uncomfortable.) and I don't really like the idea of being miles away from home and having to get myself to the hospital from who knows where. On Sunday Mark and I went for a drive in the country just to get me outside a bit and we ended up popping in to see our friends Amanda and Mark who live in Milton. As I sat down on their lovely, light coloured couch, I felt a momentary panic as I envisioned the dam giving way and all the water in the world flooding their gorgeous living room. Amanda could see my concern, but she said, "At least it'd be an interesting story." Mark on the other hand, looked horrified when we informed him that its pretty much any day now and turned to my Mark and said, "You brought a ticking TIME BOMB?!" Luckily, there was still time on the clock and I didn't explode then and there - although I almost peed on their couch since Mark Wright kept making me laugh. He should know that's a very dangerous game to play at this stage.

Mark and I are getting a lot of phone calls and emails lately, with people just "checking in". I promise that as soon as these guys come out, Mark will be sending an email. And I'm going to try to have him post a little note on the site too - maybe he'll even figure out how to put up some photos. So don't worry, I won't let you all sit there wondering if its happened or not. And Mark will be too proud a papa not to shout it from the rooftops!

It's come along so quickly and you'll be a mama in a week and a half!!!

I love checking in for updates and particularly as it's a form of roadmap for me and what's to come (divided by 2 of course :)

I can't wait to see pics of the little rascals!
